This area of Kamloops sits against the hillside to the west and the shores of the North Thompson River to the east. Westsyde features a variety of properties such as condos, town homes, half duplex, bare land strata developments, single family, acreages and estate properties. Since this area of the city is quite sprawling, most of Westsyde to the south is residential with single family properties dominating the area. Once past the Dunes Golf Course there are many more acreage properties and estates.

Westsyde has it's own shopping area with a Save on Foods, BC Liquor Store and Home Hardware. There are also a few smaller retailers, gas stations and restaurants in the area. Westsyde does feature all levels of schooling from Elementary through to Secondary. There is public transportation that runs through Westsyde making it accessible for it's residents.

Westsyde does have a number of parks and recreation spaces, with the Westsyde Recreation Centre featuring a gym and indoor swimming pool. The Rivers Trail also runs through Westsyde with nice views along the North Thompson Trail system. The Dunes Golf course is a fixture in Westsyde offering great golfing in the warmer months and a clubhouse for events. Westsyde is very close to nature there are tons of trails and hikes in the hillside surrounding the area.
