This community is easily accessed by the Yellowhead Highway #5. Rayleigh is known for it's large flat city lots. Lots ranging from 1/4 to 1/2 of an acre are not uncommon. This area consists mainly of residential homes with only single family and half duplex homes. There are a couple estate properties and acreages, but not very many since it is a relatively small neighbourhood. Rayleigh has it's own water system that was recently upgraded and all of the residents are on septic, either community septic or individual systems.

Rayleigh has a local elementary school and secondary students have school bus service. There is a small pub/restaurant in the area as well as a gas station with convenience store. The closest shopping is in North Kamloops or Downtown Kamloops which is a 15 minute drive from Rayleigh. Uptown shopping such as Costco is located 25 minutes from Rayleigh and is easy to get to with highway driving.
